Olson Technology's EDFA's and DCM's extend optical transmission
distances for medium-haul and long-haul optical networks. The EDFA's may be
ordered as a single stage device or a dual stage device with mid-stage
access, which accommodates a DCM to
minimize distortion for fiber runs longer than 100km as
well as multiple output, very high power EDFA's.

The Olson Technology, Inc. Model OTEA-CO-B One-, Two- Three- or Four-Output 1550nm EDFA is a 1RU rack mount EDFA package producing up to +26dBm total optical output power. It is engineered to meet the requirements of a high-density solution for the large-scale distribution of broadband CATV video (and/or wideband L-Band video) and data signals to traditional CATV HFC nodes in the field or to video overlay receivers in a FTTH/FTTP or PON system. |

The Model OTEA-CO-M EDFA works with 1550nm hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) networks to increase transmission distance. The unit accepts optical inputs from -2 to +10dBm and provides stable output power from +16 to +25dBm. The EDFA provides low noise figure (<5dB) and excellent environmental stability. The OTEA-CO-M includes two rear panel optical connections for the insertion of a dispersion compensation module (DCM) such as the Model OT-HDCM. Unless otherwise specified, all OTEA-CO-M EDFA's are optimized for Olson OT-DCM 100km DCM's. |

The Model OTEA-CL Series 1RU and 2RU high power 1550nm EDFA is a rack mount EDFA package producing up to four (4) to 32 optical outputs at +18dBm to +22dBm each. The 1RU package can be used for up to eight (8) outputs and a total power of 800mW (+29dBm). The 2RU package can provide up to 36 outputs and a total power of 3,200mW (+35dBm). It is engineered to meet the requirements of a high-density solution for the very large scale distribution of broadband CATV video (and/or wideband multi-channel L-Band video) and data signals to traditional HFC nodes or CATV/L-Band video overlay receivers in a FTTH/ FTTP or PON system. The LaserLite Model OTEA-CL-Series erbium doped fiber amplifier is the perfect companion to Olsons LaserPlus, LaserLite and SatellitePlus families of 1550nm EM and DM transmitters and the MetroNode, PremiseNode and SatellitePlus families of receiver/nodes. It is also designed to operate seamlessly with optical transmitters, receivers and nodes from most leading manufacturers. |

| The Model OT-DCM-xxx Dispersion Compensation Module removes distortion from optical signals in analog and digital systems that use standard SMF-28 fiber over long fiber runs. The Dispersion Compensation Module cancels out the fibers positive dispersion, increasing transmission distance and enhancing the signal fidelity. The unit may be ordered for use with FC/APC or SC/APC connectors. Models are available in 20km, 40km, 60km, 80km and 100km compensation lengths. | |||||
